what's zkMe?

zkMe is a decentralized identity protocol utilizing zero-knowledge proofs (ZKP) to verify user credentials without revealing personal information. It functions as a privacy-preserving KYC and compliance oracle, enabling on-chain proofs of attributes like identity, financial status, or activity while adhering to global AML regulations. This allows Web3 applications to integrate verifiable credentials in a fully decentralized manner, bridging pseudonymity with regulatory needs. The zkMe Network is a proprietary appchain designed as a general-purpose identity layer, supporting integrations with blockchains such as Aptos, ZetaChain, and Mantle. Features include zkTLS for secure data extraction from web2 sources (e.g., open banking APIs) and soulbound tokens (SBTs) for omnichain credentials, powering use cases in DeFi underwriting, social proofs, and privacy-first financial services.
