what's zkBob?
zkBob is a decentralized smart contract wallet that provides privacy for Web3 transactions using zero-knowledge SNARK proofs to anonymize senders, receivers, and amounts. Designed for everyday use cases like payments, salaries, donations, and P2P transfers, users deposit supported assets such as USDC and ETH into zkBob pools on chains including Optimism and Polygon. The protocol enables private multi-transfers (up to 127 in one tx), cross-chain swaps, and direct deposits, with gas abstraction via relayers for seamless experience without always needing a Web3 wallet. Compliance is integrated through daily deposit/withdrawal limits, optional KYC for higher tiers, and wallet screening to prevent illicit use. BOB serves as the native multi-collateral stable token optimized for zkBob, facilitating private transfers. As an open-source dApp, zkBob prioritizes non-custodial security and developer tools like SDK for privacy integration.
zkBob is mapped by web3privacy and Ethereum Foundation as an Ethereum transaction privacy tool.
