what's pToken?
pToken is a Solana token project that deploys an early version of the p-token program on mainnet, ahead of the official Anza-led upgrade (SIMD-0266). The p-token program is a Pinocchio-based reimplementation of the SPL Token program, reducing compute unit usage by up to 95-98% for operations like transfers, mints, and burns while preserving full backward compatibility and instruction layouts. The project includes a trustless on-chain Anchor bridge program enabling 1:1 fee-less conversions between standard SPL tokens (mint: 4xCUgkuWmpk1gmrcT9PmmCPVY8kFnHKCsMoLsRrNSPL) and pTokens (mint: fnXaaBMpRWrTykL9GNxTjqVi5rRVyH4mKe9FndfzSPL) via a vault mechanism. Security features formal verification with Kani (19/19 properties), Solana verifiable builds, and invariants for solvency, ratios, and arithmetic safety.
pToken, developed by Anza on Solana, is described as replacing SPL tokens for efficiency.
