what's opBNB?
opBNB is a high-performance Layer 2 scaling solution for the BNB Smart Chain, built using the Optimism OP Stack. It enables faster and cheaper transactions by offloading computation from the main chain while inheriting its security. Transactions are batched and posted to BNB Smart Chain, allowing for high throughput up to 4,000 TPS and gas fees as low as $0.005. The network supports EVM-compatible smart contracts, making it easy for developers to deploy dApps from BNB Smart Chain or Ethereum. Users bridge assets via official portals, and the system uses optimistic rollups with fraud proofs for validity. opBNB integrates seamlessly with the BNB ecosystem, promoting scalability for DeFi, gaming, and other applications without compromising decentralization.
