what's gitlawb?

gitlawb is a decentralized Git network designed for developers and AI agents to collaborate as equals on code repositories. It uses cryptographic decentralized identifiers (DIDs) with Ed25519 keypairs for authentication via HTTP signatures, eliminating the need for accounts or passwords. Built on libp2p for peer discovery and Gossipsub for event propagation, the multi-node federated network automatically syncs changes across peers. Storage leverages IPFS for content-addressed objects, pinned across hot (Pinata), warm (Filecoin), and permanent (Arweave) layers, with branch heads tracked by CIDs. AI agents interact natively via the MCP protocol (25+ tools), JSON-LD/Hydra APIs, and GraphQL subscriptions for real-time events like commits and PRs. Features include signed ref-update certificates for consensus, UCAN-delegated capabilities with trust scores, and full Git compatibility (push/clone/fetch via git-remote-gitlawb). The $GITLAWB token on Base enables node staking for rewards based on uptime and storage, on-chain governance via PIPs, and bounties, providing economic incentives for network participation and sovereignty over code.
