what's cashZ?
cashZ is a privacy-focused mobile wallet for the Zcash cryptocurrency, developed by a team of former Electric Coin Company (ECC) engineers and cryptographers who previously built the Zashi wallet and contributed to the Zcash protocol. It leverages the same open-source codebase as Zashi but operates under a new for-profit startup structure, enabling faster development and monetization without nonprofit limitations. cashZ supports Zcash's shielded transactions using zero-knowledge proofs (zk-SNARKs) for private peer-to-peer payments, with planned features for seamless user migration from existing wallets. The Zcash blockchain remains independent and unaffected.
