what's War Markets?
War Markets is a decentralized trading terminal designed for one-click geopolitical and narrative trading on Hyperliquid. It enables users to take leveraged long or short positions on baskets of assets representing global stress events and narratives, such as war-related outcomes, rather than individual tickers. Built as an API layer, it leverages Pear Protocol's execution API for authentication, non-custodial agent wallet creation, trade placement, and position management, with settlement on Hyperliquid's shared orderbook via HyperCore and HyperEVM. The project originated as the 1st place winner in the Pear Protocol track at the Hyperliquid London Community Hackathon in January 2026. It features a Next.js frontend with wagmi/viem integration, allowing users to browse markets, bet up/down, and track P&L. Currently in public beta with rough edges (e.g., some markets not 24/7, mobile quirks), it emphasizes Hyperliquid's composability for new market surfaces. Unaudited; for small sizes only. Future roadmap includes audits, Hyperliquid charts, $WAR token launch, and HIP-3 market participation.
