what's VoteBase?

VoteBase is a blockchain-powered mobile voting platform designed to enable secure, transparent, and efficient digital elections. Voters authenticate using digital IDs (e.g., ID cards with PIN), select their choices, and cast votes that are converted into anonymous tokens stored immutably on a decentralized blockchain ledger. This ensures tamper-proof recording, prevents double-voting through eligibility verification, and allows individual vote traceability via a public validation portal without revealing voter identity, leveraging zero-knowledge proofs for privacy. The system addresses traditional voting inefficiencies like manual counting errors, logistical costs, and trust issues by providing real-time verifiability for all participants. Developed by VoteBase GmbH in Germany, co-founded by Payman Supervizer and Maximilian Pieters, it targets political elections, referendums, shareholder votes, and civic participation, with potential for rapid roll-calls in parliaments and pilots in municipalities.
