what's Velarium?

Velarium is a drop-in parallel execution layer designed for Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM)-compatible blockchains. It enhances throughput and scalability by addressing real-world contention scenarios like liquidations, airdrops, NFT mints, and DEX spikes, where naive parallelization often fails. The system employs storage access scheduling resolution, special execution phases for hot-state management, hardware-aware caching and execution design, and linear horizontal scale-out, all while preserving the same EVM semantics without requiring chain rewrites or new tokens. Built by former Matter Labs engineers, Velarium integrates seamlessly under existing chain stacks or coordination logic as a horizontally scalable module. It features JIT contract recompilation for native code efficiency, graceful degradation under load, policy-driven parallelization, and predictable performance inspired by high-performance computing. Currently in early development, it targets L2s, rollups, sequencers, and regulated deployments seeking sovereignty and performance upgrades.
