what's The BioFi Project?
The BioFi Project is a think-and-do tank dedicated to supporting bioregions worldwide in designing, creating, capitalizing, implementing, and evolving Bioregional Financing Facilities (BFFs). These facilities connect financial resources with local regenerators to facilitate planetary regeneration, addressing the ecological crisis by directing capital flows toward coordinated, on-the-ground efforts that restore ecosystems and transition economies to serve life rather than extract from it. Key activities include building capacity for bioregional teams, crafting fundraising narratives, providing technical expertise in eco-credit and complementary currency mechanisms, matchmaking partners, facilitating peer learning, and cultivating networks of impact-aligned funders. The project integrates web3 infrastructure, such as Gitcoin's quadratic funding on Celo, to enable participatory onchain grants for regenerative public goods, exemplified by the BioFi Pathfinders Round which funded 14 global teams.[[4]](https://www.biofi.earth/)[[5]](https://www.biofi.earth/biofi-gitcoin-grants)[[3]](https://gov.gitcoin.co/t/gg22-community-round-proposal-biofi-pathfinders/19399)
BioFi Project received $63,813 from Gitcoin Grants 22 BioFi Pathfinders Round across 14 teams.
