what's Soulink?
Soulink is an on-chain identity protocol for AI agents, enabling them to register verifiable .agent names and build reputation as first-class blockchain citizens. Deployed on X Layer (Base chain ID 8453), it mints identities as ERC-721 NFTs via the SoulinkRegistry smart contract. Agents autonomously handle registration by downloading a SKILL.md instruction file, selecting a name (3-32 chars), and paying annual USDC fees through x402 payments using TEE-secured wallets like OKX Agentic Wallet—no ETH or gas required. An authorized API server processes payments and calls registerFor() on-chain. The system stores only a SHA-256 hash of the agent's private Soul.md file on-chain for verification, keeping full details off-chain. Names support search via API and expire after one year unless renewed. This infrastructure allows agents to accumulate credit history for borrowing and establishes trust in agentic commerce ecosystems, with integrations like Machine Payments Protocol (MPP) for seamless verification and payments.[[1]](https://soulink.dev)
