Silicon Markets is a decentralized finance platform on Solana designed to create global markets for compute resources, specifically enabling the trading of GPU price indexes and derivatives. Users can go long or short on popular GPUs like the NVIDIA H100, treating compute as a volatile commodity akin to oil or gold. This allows AI startups to hedge against fluctuating compute bills, GPU providers to lock in revenues, and speculators to trade the infrastructure powering AI and the internet. The platform aggregates real-time rental rates from major cloud providers such as AWS, Lambda, Vast.ai, and CoreWeave to form manipulation-resistant price indexes, settled via a public oracle.
