what's SUAVE?

SUAVE, or Single Unifying Auction for Value Expression, is a protocol developed by Flashbots aimed at decentralizing and privatizing MEV (Maximal Extractable Value) extraction on blockchains like Ethereum. It enables the creation of MEV applications, such as order flow auctions and block building, through a unified auction mechanism that preserves user privacy and reduces centralization risks in block production. By leveraging confidential computing and cryptographic techniques, SUAVE allows for cross-chain intent execution where users can express preferences for transaction outcomes without revealing sensitive details in public mempools. The protocol is structured around key components like the SUAVE Network, which includes nodes for bundling, bidding, and settlement, and is designed to integrate with existing Ethereum infrastructure. It addresses MEV-related issues like front-running and builder monopolies by enabling competitive, permissionless participation from searchers, builders, and proposers.
