what's Mercurials?

Mercurials is an on-chain generative art NFT project on Ethereum. Each Mercurial is a unique, algorithmically generated piece of digital art represented as an ERC721 token, with all image data and metadata stored fully on-chain for permanence and authenticity without external dependencies. The project features a continuous burn-to-mint mechanism using a variable rate gradual Dutch auction (VRGDA). The displayed artwork updates to a new randomly generated image every five blocks (approximately 60 seconds). The mint price gradually decreases by 5% each day until purchased: the buyer pays in Ether (which is immediately burned), receives the minted token capturing the current art, and the price resets ~23% higher for the next auction. This infinite process allows community curation by minting desirable generations, with supply constrained naturally by rising prices based on demand.
