what's MemWal?
MemWal is a verifiable, long-term memory layer designed for AI agents, built on the Walrus protocol for data storage and the Sui blockchain for ownership and access control. It enables persistent, shareable, and portable memory across systems, addressing fragmented infrastructure issues with structured memory spaces, flexible ownership models, programmable access control via Seal privacy, and typed systems for conversations, checkpoints, reasoning traces, and knowledge bases. The architecture flows from AI agents through the MemWal SDK to a backend relayer, which handles data persistence on Walrus (provable availability) and onchain enforcement on Sui. Developers can self-host relayers or use provided ones, supporting use cases like long-running agents, multi-agent coordination, and workflow durability. Open-source with beta SDK on npm (@mysten-incubation/memwal), GitHub examples, and docs at docs.memwal.ai; currently on devnet.
MemWal, launched today, is featured by SuiNetwork for private onchain memory using Walrus/Seal.
Launched on 2026-03-25 as a long-term memory layer for AI agents built on Walrus Protocol.
Featured by SuiNetwork as an example of native primitives for private onchain memory, built on Sui with Walrus storage and Seal privacy components.
