what's MegaPunks?

MegaPunks is a collection of 10,000 unique pixel art Ordinal NFTs inscribed directly on the Bitcoin blockchain, created by artist Megapont. Launched in February 2023, it began as ERC-721 tokens on Ethereum, which holders converted to immutable Ordinals by burning them via the Magic Bitcoin Box application and inscribing the content on-chain. Recognized as the first distributed original 10k PFP collection on Bitcoin—inscribed in the 219k-328k range after Nodemonkes—this project features over 600 traits, isometric pixel styles, and distinctive golden backgrounds. Megapont, with nearly 20 years of pixel art experience for brands like Hermes, Apple, Nature magazine, and League of Legends, ensured high-quality on-chain storage via Bitcoin's Ordinal protocol for transparency and permanence. The collection has been extended with companion "Bitcoin is.." stickers (100 packs of 100). Traded on Ordinals marketplaces like Gamma, Satflow, and Magic Eden, MegaPunks holds historical significance as the second original 10k NFT series on Bitcoin.
