what's Maya Protocol?
Maya Protocol is a decentralized, non-custodial liquidity and exchange protocol built on the Cosmos SDK. It enables seamless cross-chain swaps of native assets such as BTC, ETH, and ATOM without the need for wrapping, bridges, or custodians. Operating similarly to THORChain but with a permissionless validator set and no slashing, it prioritizes security and accessibility for multichain DeFi. The protocol features a two-token model: CACAO serves as the settlement and gas asset, used for liquidity pairing, bonding, and incentives, while MAYA captures a share of protocol revenue for long-term sustainability. Users benefit from features like single-sided staking to earn yield without impermanent loss, streaming swaps, and optimized fee structures including inbound/outbound gas and affiliates.
