Machine Payments Protocol08

what's Machine Payments Protocol?

Machine Payments Protocol (MPP) is an open standard for machine-to-machine payments, co-authored by the Tempo blockchain and Stripe. It enables autonomous agents and internet-scale systems to perform payments without human intervention, designed to be extensible and agnostic to underlying payment methods. MPP supports stablecoins natively on Tempo, credit cards via Visa extensions, Bitcoin through Lightspark, and more, facilitating seamless integration across traditional finance and crypto rails. Built alongside Tempo's payments-optimized L1 blockchain—which features stablecoin-native gas, account abstraction, high throughput, and instant finality—MPP powers use cases like agent economies, global remittances, embedded finance, and tokenized deposits. Developers can access public RPCs, APIs via mppscan.org explorer, and documentation to build scalable payment applications.
