what's Lodestar?
Lodestar is an open-source Ethereum consensus client implemented in TypeScript and Zig by ChainSafe Systems. It supports running Ethereum beacon nodes, validators, and light clients, enabling participation in Ethereum's proof-of-stake network. Key features include efficient syncing via sync committees, compatibility with the Ethereum consensus specifications, and tools for local testnets and mainnet deployment. Users can install Lodestar via source builds, binaries, Docker, or quickstart scripts to operate a beacon node paired with an execution client like Geth. It emphasizes modularity with libraries for Ethereum projects, CLI commands for node management, and ongoing development toward full feature parity including sharding support.
