what's KidBlocksOS?

KidBlocksOS is an open-source, AI-powered tablet operating system designed for children aged 5-10, emphasizing creation over consumption. Powered by the OpenClaw agent framework and XMTP protocol, it allows kids to generate games, music, art, stories, and science simulations from natural language prompts like "make me a space game." All generation occurs locally on the device—such as a Raspberry Pi—with no cloud reliance, accounts, or data exfiltration. It includes six creative studios, over 40 generation patterns, and a three-layer safety system that reinterprets unsafe prompts (e.g., "gun game" becomes "water balloon launcher"). The OS features a peer-to-peer marketplace for kids to price, sell, and deliver their creations directly to other devices via encrypted XMTP conversations, settling in USDC on the Base blockchain. Devices ship with self-custodial wallets using device-bound encrypted private keys, IP whitelisting for security, and unique invite codes for initial authentication. Parental controls are enabled through native agents acting as oracles, queryable via XMTP-compatible apps like Convos for monitoring creations, purchases, spending, and settings adjustments.
