what's Kasplex?
Kasplex is a Layer 2 rollup protocol built on the Kaspa blockchain, providing full EVM-compatible smart contract execution while leveraging Kaspa's Layer 1 for sequencing and data availability. It enables decentralized applications, DeFi, inscriptions, and KRC-20 tokens through efficient data handling and standardized token standards, enhancing Kaspa's scalability without compromising its proof-of-work security. Initially launched as an inscriptions protocol by the Kaspa Ecosystem Foundation, Kasplex has evolved to include zkEVM mainnet support, wallet integrations, and an inscription DEX. It processes high transaction volumes comparable to major chains, supports wrapped KAS (wKAS) for gas, and facilitates bridging between Kaspa L1 and L2, positioning it as a key infrastructure for the Kaspa ecosystem.
