what's Jizo in Many Places?

Jizo in Many Places is an evolving generative NFT art project on the Tezos blockchain, created by digital artist riniifish. Inspired by Jizo statues from Japanese Buddhist tradition—protective deities for travelers and children—the collection depicts these figures gathering in digital realms, blending folklore with interactive on-chain mechanics. Funded by the Art on Tezos Beyond grant program, it bridges community participation and autonomous artwork evolution. The first series consists of 1 rare master Jizo and 100 unique student Jizos, minted via drop.art. Prior to minting, collectors submit questions to the Jizos, which are integrated into the NFTs. Post-mint, the Jizos dynamically respond to each other—chatting, chanting, and exchanging queries—with a central figure carrying forward selected community questions, fostering an ongoing, living narrative within the fully on-chain ecosystem.
