what's Floresta?

Floresta is a lightweight and embeddable Bitcoin client designed for full validation, sovereignty, and seamless integration into applications. Powered by Utreexo, a dynamic accumulator for the UTXO set, it enables efficient blockchain state tracking without storing the entire history. The project includes libfloresta for reusable components and florestad, a full node with watch-only wallet and Electrum server support. It reduces resource demands for running Bitcoin nodes, making it suitable for mobile or embedded environments while maintaining full verification. Floresta supports initial block download optimizations and is written in Rust for performance and safety, contributing to Bitcoin's decentralization by lowering barriers for node operation.
