what's Ethproofs?
Ethproofs is a community-driven initiative focused on accelerating advancements in zero-knowledge (ZK) proof systems for the Ethereum ecosystem. It organizes calls, discussions, and grants to foster innovation in proving technologies, including zkVMs and real-time proof generation. By bringing together developers, researchers, and projects, Ethproofs aims to enhance scalability and efficiency in blockchain applications through collaborative efforts on hardware like GPUs and ASICs. The project highlights breakthroughs such as high-speed trace generation in RISC-V zkVMs and integrations with tools like Prism zkVM. It serves as a hub for sharing updates on proving timelines, open-source developments, and ecosystem integrations, ultimately supporting Ethereum's transition to more performant ZK-rollup and consensus mechanisms without relying on centralized infrastructure.
