what's DePunks?

DePunks is a generative NFT collection on Ethereum featuring 10,000 base punk models. Users begin by minting a free base character—a procedurally generated punk with on-chain assigned type and skin tone—using tickets earned through a browser-based memory game that rewards higher scores with more tickets. Customization occurs in phases: holders mint and equip attributes from 87 unique traits across 9 categories as fully tradable ERC-1155 tokens. The process culminates in an optional on-chain upgrade, where equipped attributes are burned to generate a permanent one-of-one punk with finalized metadata stored entirely on-chain for a small fee. Unupgraded bases are burned after 30 days, emphasizing the project's fully on-chain ethos and trait trading economy.
