what's Clude?
Clude is an open-source AI memory system designed to provide persistent, portable, and private memory for AI agents, decoupling it from the underlying language models. This allows agents to retain episodic, semantic, procedural, self-model, and introspective memories across different sessions, providers, or models, with biologically-inspired decay rates (e.g., 7% daily for episodic, 2% for semantic). Key features include automated dream cycles every 6 hours—encompassing consolidation, compaction, reflection, contradiction resolution, and emergence thinking—along with active reflection for journaling original thoughts. The architecture supports client-side encryption for privacy, poly-model compatibility via SDK (npm install clude-bot), and optional on-chain verification on Solana using a custom Anchor program. Memories are hashed with SHA-256 and registered immutably as proof-of-existence via memo transactions, ensuring tamper-proof audit trails without exposing content. This creates a verifiable cognitive layer for AI agents, runnable on user infrastructure with no API keys required.
