what's Cancore?
Cancore is a peer-to-peer atomic swap protocol that enables trustless token exchanges between the Canton Network and public EVM-compatible blockchains such as Ethereum, Polygon, and Arbitrum. It connects institutional-grade assets tokenized on Canton—such as real-world assets (RWAs) like bonds, equities, and fund tokens—with liquidity on public chains, without relying on intermediaries, custody layers, or traditional bridges. The protocol utilizes Hash Time-Locked Contracts (HTLCs) to ensure atomic settlement, where transactions either fully complete or revert entirely, providing time-locked refund protection and zero counterparty risk. Key components include decentralized liquidity pools for instant swaps (with auto-rebalancing and fee earnings), an orderbook for limit/market orders with auto-resolve, and compliance features like whitelists and audit trails for institutional pilots. This infrastructure preserves Canton's privacy and regulatory controls while unlocking cross-chain interoperability.
