what's Blobdrop?

Blobdrop is a decentralized, censorship-resistant service for ephemeral file sharing on Ethereum. Users connect an Ethereum wallet to upload small files (up to 127 KB), which are stored in blobspace via EIP-4844 transactions. No accounts, backends, or tracking are required—simply upload and share a link. Files persist for about 18 days before automatic pruning, leveraging Ethereum's native blob retention for cheap, temporary storage. Built using the BlobKit SDK by the Ethereum Community Foundation, Blobdrop exemplifies token-free infrastructure that strengthens Ethereum. It handles blob encoding, commitments, and gas optimization under the hood, enabling plain users to utilize advanced onchain data layers without technical expertise.
