what's Blip Market?

Blip Market is a micro-prediction trading platform on Base, an Ethereum Layer 2 blockchain, where users forecast whether an asset's price—such as ETH-USD—will touch specific predefined ranges within fixed short time windows. Participants stake USDC on discrete price-time cells overlaid on live charts, buying "shares" priced via a Black-Scholes-inspired probability model. Outcomes are binary and zero-sum: if the price hits the range before expiry, winners split the pool proportionally based on their shares. The design emphasizes speed and precision, enabling tap-based entry into markets in seconds for granular views on volatility. The platform achieves gasless UX via Privy authentication and EIP-2612 permit signatures, with a relayer handling settlements using Coinbase WebSocket feeds for oracle-free, deterministic on-chain resolution. Backend uses Go with TimescaleDB/Redis for data, React/TypeScript frontend, and multi-RPC broadcasting for reliability. Built at ETHGlobal's HackMoney 2026, it transforms short-term price action into clear, high-performance speculation without traditional buy/sell mechanics.
