what's BattleChain?
BattleChain is a specialized Layer 2 blockchain serving as a pre-mainnet, post-testnet environment where protocols can stress-test audited smart contracts using real funds and liquidity. Developers deploy contracts, request "attackable" status through a DAO-governed process, and expose them to ethical hackers, AI bots, and researchers under a Safe Harbor Agreement. This adversarial testing uncovers vulnerabilities with controlled risk, enabling battle-hardened contracts to be promoted to production mode before mainnet deployment across any EVM chain. Technically implemented on ZKSync for low costs and isolation, BattleChain features two modes: Attack Mode for legal exploitation bounties and Production Mode mirroring mainnet security. The workflow requires only three transactions—deploy, request attackable status, and promote—making integration straightforward. It addresses limitations of traditional audits and bug bounties by providing real incentives and real stakes in a dedicated security infrastructure.
