what's AutoPay Protocol?

AutoPay Protocol is a non-custodial subscription payment system designed for USDC on blockchain networks, allowing users to pay for recurring services such as newsletters, SaaS tools, DAO memberships, and trading signals directly from their wallets without intermediaries or credit cards. It bridges the subscription economy to crypto by enabling merchants to offer permissionless, open-source recurring billing while users retain control of their funds. Users create on-chain subscription policies specifying the merchant, charge amount, billing interval, and spending cap, with the first charge executing immediately. A relayer service schedules and executes charges, enforcing rules via smart contracts and sending Stripe-like webhooks to merchants. Merchants integrate easily via an npm SDK to generate checkout links and handle events. Supports cross-chain funding from multiple networks via Circle Gateway, settling on chains like Base, Flow EVM, and Arc, with a 2.5% fee per transaction.
