what's Atlas?
Atlas is a blockchain infrastructure platform that allows developers to launch dedicated zero-knowledge Ethereum Virtual Machine (zkEVM) chains, referred to as app chains, optimized for specific decentralized applications. These chains leverage zero-knowledge proofs to ensure transaction validity, providing Ethereum-equivalent security while enabling significantly higher throughput, up to 2000 transactions per second. By rolling up directly to Ethereum as Layer 2 solutions, Atlas chains avoid the congestion and high fees of shared networks, as each chain is isolated for a single app, eliminating competition for block space. The platform simplifies the creation and deployment of smart contracts across any EVM-compatible network with one-click functionality and automatic verification. Atlas addresses key challenges in blockchain development, such as maximal extractable value (MEV) leakage and poor user experiences, through integrations like FastLane, which offer execution abstraction for fair order flow and app-level control. This makes it particularly suited for protocols powering high-scale applications, including decentralized social networks, gaming economies, and other resource-intensive dApps, where traditional blockchains fall short.
Atlas resolved a $5M exploit with quantum-resistant proofs, while TVL surpassed $2B.
