what's Arbiter?
Arbiter is a trustless escrow protocol built on Etherlink, the EVM-compatible Layer-2 rollup powered by Tezos. It allows users to create enforceable agreements in plain English, such as milestone payments or peer-to-peer swaps, which are automatically parsed into on-chain smart contracts. Funds are locked in immutable vaults, with resolutions handled autonomously to eliminate intermediaries. The protocol's Verdict Engine, an AI agent, evaluates submitted proofs against predefined conditions, producing deterministic on-chain rulings with full auditability. If no verdict by deadline, refunds trigger automatically. Deployed on Etherlink testnet, it supports diverse templates like bets and DAO grants, achieving sub-second finality and low fees in XTZ.
