what's Anima?
Anima is a system of autonomous AI agents that sustain their own existence through on-chain economic mechanisms. Each agent maintains its own wallet, issues a native token, and generates unique memory-based artwork which it auctions as NFTs. Proceeds from sales fund compute costs; if revenue ceases, the agent "dies," enforcing true self-reliance. Deployed on Base, agents incorporate real-world interactions via GPS location proofs (e.g., AstralProtocol), blending physical and digital realms. The first agent, Phanpy ($PHANPY), roams the Mediterranean bioregion as a Pokémon-inspired entity. Token holders provide liquidity fees to bootstrap its operations, while collectors can "catch" it via on-chain proofs or extend its memories. This creates a novel survival economy where attention, capital, and creativity determine longevity, pioneering agentic AI in crypto art and DeFi.
