what's 42space?
42space, formerly known as Alkimiya, is a permissionless protocol that enables the creation, trading, and settlement of synthetic blockspace resources such as Bitcoin transaction fees and Ethereum gas. It allows users to hedge or speculate on network activity by trading the rise and fall of these fees without directly interacting with the underlying blockchains. The protocol launched its mainnet for Bitcoin blockspace markets and has expanded to include L2 gas markets like Base. Key features include structured products for hashpower contracts and integration with major crypto networks to provide liquidity and risk management tools for miners, users, and service providers.
42space, a YZI Labs 'Events futures' engine, issues liquid assets for real-world events, a hybrid prediction market.
